The series of three shows pay tribute to the 60 years of the style that is synonymous of Brazilian music in the World. In the voices and chords of Wanda Sá (21/04), João Sabiá (25/05), and Roda de Samba (22/06). The program will stroll through Rio de Janeiro’s latest 50’s and early 60’s stories and tell the birth and growth on Classic Bossa, Nova Bossa and other bossas concerts. # Wandasa, #JoaoSabia #Rodafina #RodadeSamba # Nelsonlatif It is 2018. “Chega de Saudades (No more blues)”, the iconic album by João Gilberto celebrates its 60th Anniversary. A Bossa Nova. The Brazilian Summer Sessions 2016
The Brazilian Summer Sessions* 2016 bring Rio to the Bimhuis. This is a special year for Brazil and the city of Rio de Janeiro, not only because of the Olympic Games: it is also the anniversary of 100 Years of Samba. A Hora do Brasil Foundation has designed a program to celebrate it and brings Moyseis Marques (14/05), Roberta Sá (18/06) and Roda de Samba by Nelson Latif (09/07) to the Bimhuis in Amsterdam.
Paulo Vivacqua is the first artist in residence of the Urban Poets project. Inspired by the city of Amsterdam, Paulo will open his exhibition “Relatos e Visagens” on the 5th of September 2015, at the VZL Contemporary Art (Brouwersgracht 161, 1015GG Amsterdam).
